He said that PKNS also expects to give a subsidy from RM30,000 to RM100,000 for each affordable housing unit built.

In total, they will spend between RM1 billion to RM3 billion in subsidies for affordable homes.

He said that in line with the PKNS vision “Building Communities, Enriching Lives and Realising Dreams”, the agency will take into account several key factors before carrying out an affordable housing project.

“The factors are household income, social needs and the demography needed to develop a neighbourhood that is systematic, comfortable and equipped with amenities,” he said, quoted from Bernama.

To fulfil the goal of providing every family their own home, the state government has approved of the Selangor Affordable Housing Policy on Nov 13, 2013.

“Developers like PKNS need to adhere to the policy when providing affordable homes in Selangor.

The policy also clearly states its categories according to zones, components and sales price”, he explained.
