“One of the programmes to achieve the mission to make Selangor an international trade centre is holding the Selangor Expo.

“It is two-pronged. We are creating a platform for SMIs to market their products to the world market.

“While we want to make Selangor a centre of international trade, of course foreign products should be displayed for local and foreign traders to come and trade together,” said Chang Khim during an exclusive interview with Selangor Kini at his office in the State Government Secretary (SUK) Building.

Chang Khim, who believes that this programme will receive a large allocation in the Selangor Budget 2015, also urged local SMIs to not miss out on the opportunity to expand their businesses.

When touching on the mission to make Selangor a centre of international trade, Chang Khim urged for the business community in Selangor to fully cooperate.

Prior to this, Selangor remained as an investment destination of choice for local and foreign investors after recording a total investment of RM9.833 billion in 2013.

Among the foreign countries with the highest investment in the state are Japan, Singapore, the United States, China and Switzerland.
