Khusrin: RM2.6 million compensation payment issue under investigation

SHAH ALAM, 18 Nov: Action will be taken if the compensation payment, or the ‘golden handshake’, worth RM2.6 million to eight assistants of the former Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, did not comply with the prescribed procedure set by Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).

The State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, who is one of the three MBI members of the board of directors, said that he has begun investigation on the complaint against the payment.

The two other MBI members of the board of directors are the Chief Minister and the State Financial Officer.

“We will investigate and take action,” he said, quoted from MStar when commenting on the fuss of the compensation payment.

The payment was made at the end of Abdul Khalid’s service before Mohamed Azmin Ali took over as the Chief Minister.

Prior to this, the issue of the fund repayment worth RM2.5 million to MBI was only discussed again during the corporation’s meeting before further action is decided on November 20.

This was revealed by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, after officiating the Children’s School Entry Assistance programme recently.
