Seminar to discuss entertainment guidelines at the Malaysian Integrity Institute this Thursday

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 Noc (Bernama): Entertainment industry players have been urged to join the Islamic and Entertainment National Seminar to discuss entertainment guidelines for the Islamic perspective for two days starting this Thursday.

It will be held at the Malaysian Institute of Integrity here at Persiaran Duta off Jalan Duta.

The Malaysian Islamic Consumers Association (PPIM) Chief Activist, Datuk Nadzim Johan, said that this seminar will provide a space for scholars and entertainment industry players to complete their paperwork and memorandum to be submitted to all agencies involved, including the National Fatwa Council.

“Most of the media today prefer have entertainment in excess, but not all are appropriate according to Islam. The question is what form of entertainment are allowed or not in Islam.

“That is why this seminar is a middle ground to find the common good as the entertainment industry plays an important role in changing the society towards a more prosperous life,” he said during a media conference on the seminar on Monday.

Among the speakers were the Selangor Deputy Mufti, Datuk Abdul Majid Omar; the Kelantan Islamic Religious Department Director, Datuk Che Mohd Rahim Jusor, and film director, Aziz M.Osman.

All players of the entertainment industry, directors, producers, script writers and celebrities are invited to participate in the seminar which is limited to only 100 people.
