SUBANG JAYA, 12 Jan: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) will overcome the waste problem and public facilities in the area under their supervision so that the cleanliness of the area can be improved.

The new Yang DiPertua (YDP) of MPSJ, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, said that the problem needs to be addressed more frequently in order to create a healthy environment in the city.

He said that quality of services should be improved among the staff of MPSJ following the high expectations following the five-star performance achieved by this local authority.

“We need to conduct fieldwork more often to look into the problems faced. In terms of implementation, it is still lacking.

“If it is looked into, there are still many complaints in areas such as public focus areas and restaurants. Back lanes are still filled with rubbish,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after swearing in and signing the letter of appointment as the new MPSJ YDP today.

Nor Hisham said that the welfare of the residents in Subang Jaya has also received attention and he is trying to improve the social status of the residents in housing areas.

He said that this also goes for basic facilities such as the lack of lights, potholes and so on.

“We will look into the traffic congestion and study it so that it can be gradually reduced. It is impossible to overcome, but we can reduce it.

“The same goes for parking areas in Subang Jaya,” he said.

The former Gombak District Officer said that MPSJ will also hold meetings and discussions with Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) regarding the traffic congestion in the city on January 13.

He said that everything planned is compatible with the goal to make Subang Jaya a green city in 2030 and to achieve the city status.

“I decided for whatever drafter by the former YDP, Datuk Asmawi Kasbi, previously to be continued.

“MPSJ will also continuously provide information to the residents to maintain the cleanliness of the city,” he said.
