SHAH ALAM, 7 Apr: At least 100 Selangor Local Youth Movers (PeBT) were terminated when they failed to activate youth development programmes.
The Exco for Youth, Amiruddin Shari (PKR-Batu Caves), said that the state government needs competent leadership to become agents of change to the youths in Selangor.
“Currently, we are in the process of replacing 100 of the 288 PeBT for their failure to activate programmes.
“In addition to the reports received it was also found that they failed to attend meetings and programmes organised, including not taking the prescribed allowance,” he said, answering a verbal question from Dr Abdul Rani Osman (PAS-Meru) at the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session this morning.
Selangor established the PeBT in mid-2009 to plan and mobilise development programmes related to human capital development among the youth in the state.
