SHAH ALAM, 21 Apr: The Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, cannot be involved in the investigation on the demonstration at the church in Taman Medan and must hand it over to another officer.

The Keadilan Youth Chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that his indifferent attitude shows that he is unprofessional because his only family member is involved in the case.

“Their behaviour does not reflect Muslims and is very embarrassing.

“What is even more disappointing is that the rule of law and equal protection is not practiced fairly now,” he said in a press statement.

Nik Nazmi said that each individual has the right to practice their culture and religion, as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

“I do not believe that displaying a cross can erode faith in an individual.

“Everyone involved should look at themselves if they think that something so trivial can challenge their faith in Islam,” he said.
