“The construction should be refined if it becomes necessary. The main thing is larger allocation for the public transport system because it is able to solve traffic congestion in cities, particularly in Selangor,” he said when commenting on the 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK-11) today.

He stressed that the state government welcome the recommendations presented to improve public transport like the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT3) involving Sungai Buloh until Putrajaya.

“This morning, we held a meeting with the SPAD and MRT Corporation to look into the development of MRT 2 in terms of effectiveness and alignment.

“We support the construction because it is part of the public transport system that can help disperse traffic flow in Selangor, particularly for the route between Sungai Buloh and Putrajaya,” he said.

The presentation of RMK-11 which was delivered by the prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak in the Dewan Rakyat touched on the construction of MRT and LRT3 in the Klang Valley.

In addition to that, Najib also announced the construction of the West Coast Highway for better access for the people of the west coast of Perak and Selangor that is expected to be completed in 2019.
