CM: Savings reserve increased to RM3.6 billion despite increased welfare spending

KUALA KUBU BHARU, 11 May: The state’s savings reserves increased to RM3.6 billion compared to RM3.4 billion on February 28 despite increased spending for various welfare programmes.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the development proves that the government led by Pakatan Rakyat is efficient in managing finances, and has even channeled it back for the people’s development.

“A blessing for being fair to all people if that the state’s revenue managed to increase. In the first four months of this year, we managed to collect over RM1 billion in revenue.

“Now, Selangor’s savings has jumped to RM3.6 billion.

“Huge reserves do not carry any meaning if the people do not benefit from it. So it is taken out and translated for the people to enjoy,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the 5A Notice Form Presentation Ceremony at the Sports Complex Multipurpose Hall today.

He assured that economic management is being carried out in a transparent, accountable manner with no leakages due to corruption or embezzlement.
