UNISEL: Four companies cooperate to strengthen industry

SHAH ALAM, 4 Sept: The University of Selangor (UNISEL) once again stepped forward by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with four industry networks today.

The Senior Secretary to the Exco for Education, Human Capital Development, Technology and Innovation, Abbas Awang, said that the effort is able to produce high quality products which will generate income for UNISEL.

He said that it is also on lone with Selangor’s mission to generate and strengthen industry development.

“Hopefully, such effort will continue to evolve to provide opportunities to those unable to use their brains to use their muscles to contribute to development.

“So far, we have been focusing on the potential of the brain alone without focusing and placing emphasis on other potential,” he said.

He said this at the MoU and MoA signing ceremony between Unisel and four private companies at APFT Maintenance Training Berhad today.

Also present was the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Unisel, professor Dr Mokhtar Abdullah, the Selangor Economic Advisor’s Office Chief Executive Officer, Dr Fahmi Ngah, and representatives of the companies involved.

The MoA involves UNISEL with DNS Venture Sdn Bhd and Bostani Technology Sdn Bhd. While the MoU involves UNISEL with Teamwork Allgain Sdn Bhd and APFT Maintenance Berhad.

Prior to this, the state government approved a RM300,000 grant for Unisel with cooperation from DNS Venture to come up with the Airys brand air purifiers.

The environmentally-friendly product reportedly received orders for 100,000 units from Saudi Arabia.
