BANDAR TUN RAZAK, 18 JAN: Political consciousness and uprising shown by the police and armed forces is the latest indication that the Umno-BN power is at the end.
PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that military personnel are the key changes in the country which will play an important role in the peace process.
“We will prove that at the verge of Umno-BN’s collapse, security personnel are together with Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
“When they are together with PR, it mean if there are thugs among Umno members who will create chaos and harm the people of Malaysia, the military and police force will be the ones protecting the people of Malaysia,” said Rafizi.
He said that PR is committed in protecting and fighting for the welfare and sacrifice of military personnel.
“If PR wins, we will increase government contribution by 5 percent to every member of the military making it 20 percent which will be contributed to the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT),” he said.
Rafizi explained that the abuse of LTAT funds in the land sale transaction involving a Selangor Umno Chief, Datuk Raja Ropiah Raja Abdullah is a betrayal of the sacrifice of the soldiers.
“Abuse of LTAT funds is specifically affecting former members of the military,” he said.
Previously, Rafizi revealed the misappropriation of LTAT funds and demanded explanation from the government so that the funds are used to safeguard the welfare of the soldiers.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the moment of uprising of the people on 12 January is an important moment to stop the Umno-BN regime.
Despite Utusan Malaysia saying that only 10,000 people attended, the photographs showed otherwise.
He said that if Pakatan Rakyat rules, peace will shine through, just like the peace at the HKR112 assembly.
Earlier, Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim in the evening donated about 200 bags containing information on Selangor to LRT users at the Cheras LRT Station.
