SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim filed a RM100 million suit today against pro-Umno blogger “Papa Gomo” for allegedly attempting to link him to yet another sex scandal by publishing fake photographs of him in a blog posting last Saturday, 16 March.

In a statement, lawyer N. Surendran who is representing Anwar said that the blog owner of papagomo, Wan Muhamman Azri Wan Deris, was named as the individual responsible for distributing photographs and a video with the aim of defaming Anwar.

Anwar, who is also the Opposition Leader, in his suit demanded for Papagomo to withdraw the allegations, apologise within 48 hours from today and pay RM100 million in damages.

“The sum of damages demanded reflects the blogger’s close ties with Umno amd Umno’s clear backing for him,” explained N. Surendran.

Based on the close ties, he also does not rule out the possibility that Umno is directly involved in the series of defamation recently.

“Umno’s dependence on practising gutter politics such as this shows how bad their moral and ethical values are in efforts to tarnish the reputation of Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

“This proves that Umno-BN is no longer qualified to rule and govern this country,” he said.
