CM Expressed Condolences To The Family Of The Late Tan Sri Dr.Abdul Majid

SHAH ALAM, 25 Mar: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim represented that State Government and the people of Selangor in expressing condolences to the family of Selangor Royal Council Member, Tan Sri Dr Abdul Majid Ismail, who died yesterday.

The deceased was pronounced dead at about 4pm yesterday at his home in Taman Duta, Jalan Langgak Duta, Kuala Lumpur, due to old age.

His body is buried at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum in recognition of his contribution for serving as the personal physician to the Sultan of Selangor since the late 70s.

The Chief Minister accompanied DYMM (His Royal Highness) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to the burial at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum after the funeral at the Shah Alam State Mosque this morning.

“Indeed, his merit and contributions to the people of Malaysia, especially in the medical field will be remembered forever,” said Abdul Khalid in a media statement.

Abdul Majid, 92, was the first local citizen to become an orthopaedic surgeon in 1958 and has served as the second Malaysian Director General Of Health from 1971 to 1976.
