Anwar Repeats Challenge to Najib for a Debate

PETALING JAYA, 3 Apr: Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim once again invites Prime Minster, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to debate on policies of their respective parties so that the people can evaluate and make a choice in this 13th General Election (GE-13).

He reiterated the call in a special press conference in conjunction with the elections which was held at the PKR headquarters today.

“Pakatan Rakyat repeats the invitation to Datuk Seri Najib to maintain BN’s record and for us to present the wisdom of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) policies in a debate so that the people can make an informed and fair choice,” he said.

He said that the dissolution of Parliament by the Prime Minister gives the people an opportunity to choose a government which is competent, responsible, free from corruption and has strong commitment in ensuring a strong Malaysia.

“We call on all parties, especially our friends from BN, to ensure an ethical practice of elections and adherence to democratic principles at all times.

“We welcome Najib’s statement of guaranteeing a peaceful transition of power if PR wins the 13th General Elections,” said Anwar who is confident that PR has a great opportunity of capturing Putrajaya.

He said that PR has confidence in the security forces and will act professionally and fairly in order to protect public order during the campaign.
