Unisel Worried About 400 Students Facing SPM

SHAH ALAM, 16 Apr: A total of 400 Form 5 students from 10 schools will become UNISEL students for three days starting from 23 to 25 April and will follow tuition for three core subjects; English language, Mathematics and Science.

The UNISEL Corporate Communications Director, Rosniza Mohammad Rasol, said that the programme is in collaboration with the Selangor Education Department (JPS) through the 2013 UNISEL School Friends community programme.

It is specifically made to engage secondary school students who will be sitting for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) at the end of this year.

“2013 is the fourth year that the SSU is carrying out this programme with the cooperation of JPS, and students who will be special guests of UNISEL will follow this programme which is monitored by 60 lecturers who will visit these UNISEL students at their respective schools.

“It is a corporate social responsibility programme that strengthens ties with the community,” said Rosniza in a media statement.

She said that the special guests of ‘400 students’ at Unisel will be monitored by 50 experienced Unisel lecturers who will guide the tuition in Mathematics, Science and the English language.

Through the Science subject, students will be exposed to eight Science exhibition booths exhibiting physics, equilibrium, and genetics highlighting the demonstration of the lifespan of fly, DNA research and demonstrations on how volcanoes occur.

This programme is sponsored by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Nestle, Tourism Selangor Sdn Bhd, F&N Fruti Tree, Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

Also present would be the Klang Municipal Council (MPK), Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Worldwide Holdings, the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS), Yayasan Selangor and several individuals.
