KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May: The PKR 9th National Congress to be held this weekend will discuss a range of motion of irregularities and fraud which allegedly took place during the 13th General Election (GE-13).
According to PKR Secretary General, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, PKR will determine whether to delay the election to office in the party after the congress ends.
In addition, the direction of PKR will also be debated at the two-day congress which will be held in Petaling Jaya.
Saifuddin said that the congress which will be attended by about 2,500 delegates from 221 branches, observers and special guests is the 2012 Congress which was supposed to be held in November last year.
“In November last year, PKR focused more on preparations for the election, therefore, we postponed the congress,” said Saifuddin.
When answering a question, Saifuddin explained the decision to postpone the party election which will be done after the Congress.
The PKR Youth Brigade and Wanita PKR (women’s wing) Congress will be held on 24 May and it will be officiated simultaneously by the Vice President, Mohd Azmin Ali.
Meanwhile, the National Congress will be held on the following Saturday.
