KLANG, 30 May: DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah hopes that the Selangor State Government administration led by Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will prioritise the needs of the people in addition to continuing to further develop the state.

He said this during Oath Swearing Ceremony and the Pledge Undertaking as well as the Letter of Appointment for the Honourable Members of the Selangor State Executive Council and stressed that now is the time to implement the 13th General Election (GE-13) promises as listed in the manifesto.

“The main role of the Chief Minister and Honourable Members is to develop programmes to provide real impact to Selangor in achieving progress and prosperity.

“Every responsibility to be shouldered needs to be handled intellectually and not emotionally by prioritising the people’s and the state’s interests instead of self or party interests.

“I urge that priority us given to achieving Selangor’s progress as well as to ensure that the lives of the people of different races are comfortable, peaceful, and harmonious until the next generation.

He also urged for the Honourable Members to refrain from corruption as it can degrade and damage the image and dignity of someone as well as damage the state.

“The people really hate leaders who are involved in corruption,” he added.

The people are now, he said, more discerning and know their wants and needs coupled with the assistance of independent mass media and sophisticated electronic media to acquire information fast.

Today, the Sultan of Selangor assented to deliver the letter of Appointment of Hounarable Members of the Selangor State Executive Council at Balairong Seri, at the Shah Alam Palace in Klang.

Two weeks ago, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was again chosen to be the Chief Minister of Selangor for a second term to lead the Selangor administration.

The Selangor Government made history as the first state to have a woman Speaker with the appointment of Subang Jaya Assemblywoman, Hannah Yeoh for the office.
