KUALA LANGAT, July 16: The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has provided two sites to replace the Ramadan Bazaar at Reko Sentral Kajang which was closed earlier last week.

In relation to that, all parties interesting in conducting business at the Ramadan bazaar can directly contact MPKj.

The Executive Councillor for Local Government, Studies and Research, Datuk Teng Chang Kim advised all parties to abide the decision of MPKj to close the Ramadan bazaar at the commercial area in Jalan Reko Sentral 2 and to not prolong the issue.

“I have received information from the MPKj President regarding the problems of the Ramadan bazaar where the Reko area has been closed and application for two areas to relocate has been done.

“So I advise all interested parties to carry on with Ramadan bazaar and to directly contact the Council and abide by the decisions made by the Council,” he said.

Previously, the closure of the Ramadan bazaar received complaints from local street vendors because they have taken out capital and made preparations to participate in the bazaar.

However, MPKj stood by their decision because they received complaints from managers of shops in the Reko Sentral Kajang commercial area.

The decision was done to avoid misunderstandings between store managers and hawkers at the bazaar. It is also to avoid traffic congestion in the commercial area.

Elaborating, Chang Kim said that the decision to close the site was done at the Selangor Exco level last year.

“So this year, we will follow the same principle, follow the same rules and I hope that all parties will agree because the President and Councillors know what’s best to be done,” he added.
