Shah ALAM, August 14: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has extended the Compound Reduction Programme, which offers discounts up to 80 percent, till September 6 this year, said Shahrin Ahmad.

The MBSA Deputy Corporate Director said the extension was to provide an opportunity to the public to settle their arrears before they are blacklisted.

He said, among the compounds that are eligible for reductions are the Park By-Laws (MBSA) 2005, the Advertisement By-Laws (MBSA) 2007, the Hawker By-Laws (MBSA) 2007, the Food Handling By-Laws (MBSA) 2007 and the Market By-Laws (MBSA) 2007.

“This campaign is to educate the public to be more responsible and to not delay in settling their compounds,” he said in a media statement.

For inquiries and checking of compounds, the public can contact the MBSA Department of Revenue and Investment Management via 03-55105133 extension 522 or 203, or through the MBSA website at www.mbsa.gov.my.
