CM: Give Dr Wan Azizah a Victory with a Larger Majority

BANGI, 11 Mar: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the focus on winning a larger majority for the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, is the priority at this point.

Therefore, Abdul Khalid said that there is no question of who will become the Chief Minister after this, until the results of the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election.

“We should be proud because Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is contesting in Selangor. She is one of the people who established PKR and we will work hard to ensure a greater victory is achieved compared to the GE13,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that he will be meeting with the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, regarding the follow-up of the water restructuring issue in Selangor.

He said that he will make further announcement on the matter as soon as possible in Parliament or Putrajaya.

Abdul Khalid said this when he was met by the media during the Kajang DUN by-election nomination here today.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Government and the Selangor Government will allow Selangor to acquire four water concessionaires in the state with the injection of RM2 billion for the acquisition of concessionaires shares.

8.2

Among the contents of the agreement includes the State Government, led by PR, will allow Putrajaya to continue the construction of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant.

Following the acquisition, a consortium managing the water industry in Selangor will be formed under the supervision of the Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB).

The state government expects the acquisition of the concessionaires to be completed in three months.
