CM: Rafizi’s Statement Only an Assumption, Public Explanation Planned

KAJANG, 3 Mar: The PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli, who claimed that the water industry restructuring in Selangor, in collaboration with Putrajaya, has reached RM20 billion, is just an assumption.

“I thought that this figure was guided by an assumption because it is not at all the same figure we made with the National Water Assets Management Commission.

“I do not want to comment now because after the MOU, an agreement process will arise between two parties,” said the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, this evening.

He was commenting on a statement by Rafizi, claiming that the restructuring of the water industry, in collaboration with the Federal Government, would be a loss to the people.

At a press conference this morning, Rafizi claimed that the restructuring, in collaboration with Putrajaya, may reach RM20 billion and not the earlier estimate of RM9.65 billion.

In relation to that, Abdul Khalid has planned a series of public explanation about the restructuring Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be be held to provide more explanation.

Speaking at a press conference after officiating the PKR operations room in Kajang, he said that it is necessary to avoid more inaccurate speculation from arising.

For the matter, Abdul Khalid said that the Selangor Government will seek approval from the Federal Government to release documents to the public at a meeting tomorrow.

“The approval is necessary because the documents are jointly owned. If it was just the possession of the state, we have the power to disseminate it to the public, but it involves (agreement) two parties.
