With numerous speculations regarding the disappearance of MH370, the Daily mail reported the theory that the aircraft was hijacked in protest of the Court of Appeal’s decision to convict Anwar on the case involving his former aide, Saiful Bukhari Azlan, in 2008.

The British newspaper revealed, a few hours prior to the Boeing 777-200ER’s (9M-MRO) departure to Beijing, Zaharie went to the court to express support for Anwar on 7 March.

When asked if PKR will take action against the British tabloid, Saifuddin said that there will be no action from the party at this time.

“Our focus is to urge Malaysians to pray for the MH370 aircraft to be found,” he said, quoted from the Malaysian Insider.
