SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: The leadership of the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, continues to gain the confidence of the people when a study by the University of Selangor (UNISEL) found that 72.6 percent of respondents expressed confidence in his integrity and accountability in leading Selangor.

The Principal Researcher in a Questionnaire regarding Voting Patterns and Current Issues, Dr Muhammad Shamsinor Abdul Azzis, said that only 21.3 percent of respondents said that its is moderate, while only 6.1 percentage said that it was weak.

In terms of the state’s financial management, he said that 70.4 percent said that Abdul Khalid is good in managing the state’s finances, while 24.2 percentage said that he was moderate and only 5.4 percent felt that he was weak.

The study showed that the respondents were confident that Abdul Khalid can manage the State Government, with 62.9 percent saying that he was good, 29.4 percent moderate and only 7.7 percent felt that he was weak.

The respondents also said that 73.5 percent do not agree that the Selangor water supply problems are caused by the Selangor Government, while only 26.5 percent agreed.

The study involved 60.3 respondents who reside in the Kajang constituency and 39.9 percent are from outside Kajang; equivalent to 394 respondents from various backgrounds, and the study was conducted from 12 to 16 March.
