UNISEL Study: Abdul Khalid in the Top Rank for Good Leadership

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: A study by the University of Selangor (Unisel) stated that the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, has good leadership with 69.3 percent of respondents agreeing with that statement.

The Principal Researcher in a Questionnaire regarding Voting Patterns and Current Issues, Dr Muhammad Shamsinor Abdul Azzis, said that only 24.3 percent of respondents said that Abdul Khalid’s leadership is moderate and only 6.5 percent of respondents felt that it is weak.

Meanwhile, the study showed that 66.2 percent of respondents agreed that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has good leadership, with 25.8 percent saying that it is moderate and only 8.1 percent felt that his leadership was weak.

He said that 62.5 percent of respondents stated that the PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, had good leadership, while 28.7 said that it was moderate and only 8.9 percent felt that it was weak.

Dr Muhammad Shamsinor said that the survey showed that 41.6 percent of respondents said that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak, has good leadership, 29.5 percent said that it was moderate and 28.9 percent felt that it was weak.

“The study shows that Abdul Khalid is at the top, with the highest percentage stating that he has good leadership, and Anwar ranked second.

“The last is the BN candidate for the Kajang by-election, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who received 34.1 percent in the ten leaders brought up in the survey,” he told the media today.

He said that the other leaders brought up in the survey was the PKR Deputy President, Azmin Ali; the PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli; the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin; the Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, and Selangor Exco, Iskandar Abdul Samad.

The study involved 60.3 respondents living in the Kajang constituency and 39.9 percent from outside of Kajang; equivalent to 394 respondents from various backgrounds, and conducted from 12 to 16 March.
