Selangor GDV to reach RM40 billion in 5 years

SHAH ALAM, 11 June: In the next five years, Selangor will bring housing development projects, with a Gross Development Value (GDV), to over RM40 billion.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the entire development project has been approved by the National Physical Council.

He said with rapid development, the State Government wants everyone to understand and agree to the planning to be carried out.

“This approval is not only done by the State Government, but also the National Physical Council, because it involves a huge housing project.

“So, if there is a lot of development, I hope that everyone can accept the amount of development,” he said when presenting the summary of the State Budget 2015 Dialogue yesterday.

However, Abdul Khalid said that the State Government will attempt to resolve positive and negative impacts of the development.

He said that among the negative impact is the population density in Selangor, which will face infrastructure problems.

“However, we will try to solve this problem. Therefore, we will provide information to all parties so that they understand and accept the planning that to carried out.

“The State Government must provide transportation, water and electricity facilities. We will also explain this to all parties through local authorities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid welcomed the openness of local authorities to streamline the application for planning permission.

He said that this is an effort to show that Selangor is willing to allow developers present their plans publicly.

“This is an effort that shows that Selangor is willing to allow developers to present their plans openly and to see how the changes positively and negatively impact development at each local authority,” he said.
