First 2.4km bicycle track built in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA, 1 July: A 2.4 kilometre (km) bicycle tract will be built at Jalan Tujuan, USJ, for the convenience of the local residents, especially in the constituency of Subang Jaya, to carry out leisure and recreational activities, including daily use.

The Assemblywoman for Subang Jaya, Hannah Yeon, said that the construction of the two-way track began early June, based on recommendations of her own State Legislative Assembly office, including for demands from local residents.

She said that the project, which is worth over RM500,000, is fully shouldered by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) and is expected to be ready for the benefit of the people by August 31.

“As there is demand from the residents, my office started technical meetings with the MPSJ Engineering Department to build this bicycle track.

“The location is strategic because it is filled with plants and the average number of cars that pass here are far lower compared to Persiaran Tujuan,” she said during a press conference at the USJ bicycle track route site today.

Yeoh said that the track also incorporated four schools in USJ 4 and USJ 12, thus providing students with the facility to ride their bicycles more safely.

In addition to the track, she said that bicycle parking will be provided in nearby areas.

“Thanks to MPSJ for agreeing to build this track for the convenience of users.

“We will wait for this project to be fully completed to see how many people will use the trail and if it is successful, we will plan to build elsewhere,” she said.
