PUCHONG, 19 July: The Selangor government received provisions amounting to RM37.54 million from the Federal Government to fund religious programmes in the state for 2014.
The provision was delivered through the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, by the Chairman of the Selangor State Federal Council, Datuk Seri Noh Omar.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj; the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and the Director of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department, Sahibus Samahah Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Said.
The provisions includes the payment of allowance for teaches of religious (KAFA) classes of RM29.832 million, mosque Imam’s allowance (RM6.273 million), mosque and surau Takmir teachers’ allowances (RM1.249 million) and the allowances for district mosque coordinators (RM180,720).
