Shamsul, Amiruddin given show-cause letters for issuing statements on Selangor CM issue

SHAH ALAM, 2 July: Three leaders and members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) were given show-cause letters by the party’s Disciplinary Board when they issued statements on the Selangor Chief Minister’s position issue recently.

Among those issued show cause-letters are the Member of Parliament for Bukit Katil, Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, after he ignored that statement by the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, urging party leaders to respect the partnership of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and the Sultan of Selangor’s consent in selecting the Chief Minister.

According to the press release by the PKR DIsciplinary Board Chairman, Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong, apart from Shamsul, also issued the show-cause letter was the Port Klang constituency Coordinator, who is also the PKR member for the Kuala Langat Branch, Faekah Husin and the Assemblyman for Batu Caves, Amiruddin Shari.

The show cause-letter was issued to Faekah because for the first time, she answered an open statement by Shamsul today and reminded Shamsul not to lead Anwar.

Meanwhile, the Political Bureau meeting last night decided that the PKR member for the Ampang Branch, Nasharuddin Md Isa, is to be sacked from the party when he breached Clause 44.1 of the Party Constitution which prohibits members from taking the party to court and he can be automatically sacked if he remains stubborn.

Apart from that, K Nallasamy, N Sathiaseelan, S Vijay Kumar and A Mohanathas from the Kota Raka Branch were also sacked when they were found to have engaged in violence, kicking and breaking the ballot boxes while the election took place.

Another member of the Kuala Selangor PKR Branch, Mustapha Mohd Talib was suspended for year after he was accused of threatening a candidate to not continue contesting in the election.
