SHAH ALAM, 19 Aug: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim apologised to the people of Selangor for having to face the crisis of the Chief Minister’s position which is currently being debated among leaders and the media.

“I am sorry for the unnecessary attention given to you. To me, it is okay because I decided to be a politician, so I have to bear with that.

“I am sorry for you because you came here not to be introduced to such matters. That is also what is called the price of integrity,” he said.

At the same time, Abdul Khalid also quoted the Prophet’s hadith narrated by Bukhari regarding the question of trust which states “when a Muslim is entrusted with something, he must do his best to protect it and to render it back to its owner when the time comes”.

Abdul Khalid also remained silent when followed by a large group of reporters to obtain a comment regarding the crisis of the position he currently holds.

He appeared at the event after cancelling two official events; meeting with civil servants of the state and the Selangor Football Club AGM, yesterday.
