Azmin: “It has only been 3 weeks; BN has failed for 50 years”

SHAH ALAM, 17 Oct: The Member of Parliament for Gombak, Mohamed Azmin Ali, has been asked to be given a chance to prove his capabilities in carrying out tasks as the Chief Minister of Selangor as he has just taken up the position for three weeks.

Compared to 50 years under the administration of Umno-BN, he said that the party is unable to uplift the state’s position compared to the position it is in now.

“I welcome it, God-willing, it is a responsibility.

“I have stated that this duty is a responsibility and not a privilege which I will undertake as best possible,

“Give me the chance to present the Selangor State Budget 2015 and God-willing, I will focus one of the key focuses in the Selangor Budget on the matter of education. That I guarantee.

“So, give me a chance. It has only been three weeks. Umno has not done anything for 50 years,” he said during the Budget 2015 debate in the House of Representatives yesterday.

The statement was made to answer questions brought up by the Member of Parliament for Tanjong Karang, Datuk Seri Noh Omar, who questioned the capabilities of the Bukit Antarabangsa Assemblyman on whether he can place the University of Selangor (Unisel) at the best position in the matter of education.

The Umno Selangor Chairman of Relations questioned the position if investment coming into Selangor, which is now ranked 5th as of May 2014, since it was in the second position in the previous two years.

Prior to that, Azmin calmly brushed away Noh Omar’s cynical statement where he claimed that Azmin became the Chief Minister on the tears of someone else.

Instead, he said that Barisan Nasional actually cried after the crisis for the number one position in Selangor was successfully solved.

“Selangor, Alhamdulillah, we solved it well with the appointment of a new Chief Minister.

“No one cried. The ones who cried are on that side (BN),” he said, thus deafening the House of Representatives yesterday.

Noh also ‘congratulated’ Mohamed Azmin who was appointed as the new Chief Minister of Selangor, replacing Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, but was replied with chants of ‘jealous’ by the Member of Parliament for Kapar, G Manivanan.

Mohamed Azmin was officially appointed as the 15th Chief Minister of Selangor on September 23.
