4 new MBPJ council members sworn in

PETALING JAYA, 11 Nov: Four individuals were sworn in formally to accept the position as Council Members for the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) in front of the Mayor of MBPJ, Datin Paduka Alinah Ahmad.

The MBPJ Council Member Post Acceptance Confirmation ceremony was also witnessed by some Council Members previously appointed.

The four newly appointed Council Members are Mohd Alfaizal Amjed, Chong Fook Meng, Ong Kah Wee and Ong Swee Long.

Chong Fook Meng, or better known as Peter Chong, told Selangor Kini that in the long term, the traffic flow problems in Petaling Jaya needs to be resolved for the convenience of road users.

At the same time, he said that the quality of basic things such as road condition, lights and resolving the waste problem needs to be improved.

“For me at MBPJ, we need to continue with sustainable development for the time being.

“Personally, I would reduce the use of private vehicles and increase public development,” he said.

For Mohd Alfaizal Amjed, he will carry out his responsibilities in line with the vision of Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali so that basic problems like waste and road will not come up again next year.
