Water level at Selangor Dam over 50%

SHAH ALAM, 11 Nov: The water level at the Sungai Selangor Dam recorded an increase to 52.56 percent after being at the critical level of 40 percent several months ago.

The increase will ease the worries of residents of Klang Valley after the water level at the dam recorded a decline several months ago which caused the water scheduling to be implemented.

According to the Selangor Water Management Authority 9LUAS) website, as of 8am Tuesday, the water level at the dam reached 199.60 metres.

The recent high rainfall helped increase the water level of the dam.

The Sungai Selangor Dam supplies about 60 percent of water to Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor.

The Batu Dam recorded 93.36 percent, Klang Gate Dam 95.08 percent, Sg Labu Reservoir (ORS) 66.10 percent and the Langat Dam 98.63 percent.

Meanwhile, Semenyih is at 70.69 percent, Sg Tinggi Dam 49.68 percent and Tasik Subang 73.11 percent.
