The Director of JPNS, Dr Mohd Puat Dahlan, said that the activities carried out are in line with the department’s intention in the effort to increase enforcement control for permanent reserve forests through networking or the Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS).

He said apart from that, it also demonstrated the seriousness of the Police in curbing environmental crime which has received increasing attention lately.

“In order to ensure that the forest heritage is preserved, all parties must give full cooperation.

“This approach carried out is seen as being effective to provide early warning to thieves or reserve forest intruders from continuing their rampant criminal activities,” he said.

The programme was officiated with Dr Mohd Puat and the Director of JPJKK, the Police, Datuk Acryl San Abdullah, subsequently carrying out monitoring patrols in the area of the Gading Reserve Forest using four-wheel drive vehicles.

A total of 12 four-wheel drive vehicles from JPNS and the Police is used in the patrol for about 12 kilometres in the reserve forest concerned.
