RM3.5 million to restore Petaling Hockey Stadium

PETALING JAYA, 1 Nov: It is hoped that the state government will approve the RM3.5 million in provisions to repair the facilities at the Petaling Hockey Stadium.

The Exco for Young Generation Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the condition of the stadium is currently not satisfactory and it needs immediate repair to activate the hockey development programme.

“So far, the initial work to restore the stadium has been completed and we are waiting for the provisions (RM3.5 million) applied to be approved in the presentation of the Budget 2015.

“Starting January next year, the reparation will begin and by June to August, hockey players can enjoy the facilities provided,” he said.

He said this to Selangor Kini when visiting the sports facility at the Rakan Muda Centre, Petaling Jaya Arena Complex, yesterday.

Also present was the Deputy Youth Director of the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS), Sayuti Basiron.

Commenting further, he said that through the provisions, the stadium will go through upgrading of public facilities, improvement of safety facilities and a replacement of the field carpet.
