The allocation will be channeled to the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) to solve the problems of urban settlers by using the rental and ownership concept.

Urban settlers will be given low-cost houses to be rented and they will own the house when the rental period reaches maturity, determined according to the terms and conditions of the lease and ownership agreement,” said Mohamed Azmin.

Mohamed Azmin said this when presenting the Selangor Budget 2015, which is themed ‘Quality Development with People at Heart’, during the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session today.

“At the beginning of 2015, four projects involving 956 low-cost housing units have been identified to be restored by TEPAT,” added Mohamed Azmin.

The state government is committed to resolving the housing issue for over 400 families of former plantation workers moved from Ladang Perang Besar, Ladang Medingly, Ladang Galloway and Ladang Sedgely, to Taman Permata Dengkil, Sepang, because of the implementation of the Putrajaya project.

“The state government has completed the acquisition of the 30 acres of land owned by Sime Darby at Mukim Dengkil in October 2014 with a compensation of RM12.1 million which has been paid on November 18,” added Azmin.
