Umno Assemblyman reprimands local authority, MPKj has taken action

SHAH ALAM, 6 Nov: The Assemblyman for Semenyih, Datuk Johan Abd Aziz, wants decisive action to be taken against developers who refuse to abide by development requirements, causing mud floods.

He said that mud floods happen repeatedly at several villages in Batu 3, Jalan Bangi.

“I hope that the Selangor Government administration reviews the development plan. Decisive action must be taken against developers and the state government should not just provide lip service.

“Apart from mud floods, I will bring up various issues at the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session, including the waste and water issues,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini on November 5.

The Semenyih constituency Coordinator, Hamidi Abu Hassan, said that he and the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) have ordered the contractor of the development project to maintain the drainage system.

He said that the problem did not arise again after the drainage maintenance and upgrading was done earlier this year.

“Most of the issues were quickly acted on by MPKj, Council Members and the contractors from the Selangor Public Works Department (JKR).

“The problem has been around for a long time, but earlier this year, we took action and water can be channelled correctly during heavy rain,” he said.
