SHAH ALAM, 9 Jan: The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) should look forward to provide the best services to the community as their thinking has now changed according to needs and the changing times.

The new MPKj Yang DiPertua, Mohd Sayuthi Bakar, said that the aspect of improvement needs to be done continuously in addressing public problems such as garbage collection.

“For example, for waste we can provide good waste collection methods but if the people cannot accept it, eventually they will throw rubbish in usual places.

“Finally, we have to increase energy and cost to collect and dispose it,” he said.

Mohd Sayuthi was officially sworn in as the MPKj YDP today, replacing Datuk hasan Nawawi Abd Rahman, while being accompanied by the Deputy YDP, Tuan Zulkefli Khalid, after the swearing-in ceremony today.

The appointment was done following the retirement of Datuk Hasan on December 9 after holding the position for seven years since 2007.

At the same time, Mohd Sayuthi is looking forward to working with everyone, especially the staff of MPKj and council members in developing the area of Kajang.

“We need to identify the problems of the community and the environment to be solved together.

“I see that the mentality of the residents have changed and we too have to change. What I am trying to implement is continuous improvement and creating programmes,” he said.

Mohd Sayuthi previously spent time looking at the preparation of the MPKj delegation officers who left for Kelantan in the Flood Disaster Cleaning Assistance Mission in the state involving Selangor local authorities.

Before being appointed as the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) YDP, Mohd Sayuthi served as the YDP of the Sepang Municipal Council.
