SHAH ALAM, 13 Feb: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described the death of Tuan Guru Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat like the fading of a twinkling star.
This was expressed through his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail, before being uploaded on his blog and on Facebook, as the late Nik Aziz was a religious leader of the country.
“I am saddened with this news. I have been humbled by his concern and care for me and my family all this while.
“His passing is like the fading of a twinkling star because he was a religious icon for Malaysia,” he said while also conveying words of encouragement to continue the people’s uprising.
Wan Azizah and Nurul Izzah visited Anwar at the Sungai Buloh Prison in the afternoon before leaving for Kelantan to visit Nik Aziz’s family.
