SHAH ALAM, 25 Feb: A total of RM200,000 was handed to the Kelantan Islamic Foundation (YIK) for Kelantan’s post-flood education aid.

It was presented by the Exco for Religious Affairs, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, accompanied by the Tanjung Sepat Assemblyman, Mohd Haslin Hassan, during a working visit to the Kelantan State Secretary’s office on February 23.

The donation was accepted by the Director of YIK, Tengku Ab Rahman Tuan Yunus, and witnessed by the Kelantan Exco for Human Development, Education and Higher Education, Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Datuk Hassan.

The state government’s donation is especially for the purchase of school uniforms involving students under the supervision of YIK.

21 out of 89 schools are involved with an estimated cost of RM2.3 million for asset and equipment damages.

At the same time, Yunus also offered condolences to the people of Kelantan for the death of the late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat on February 12.
