SHAH ALAM, 16 Feb: The lazy culture among public servants needs to be addressed because if left unchecked, the state and country would face wastage of manpower.

The State Government Secretary (SUK), Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, said that the issue of Selangor’s integrity will be monitored and disciplinary action may be taken.

“It is hoped that all public servants can change this culture for the sake of the reputation of public servants,” said Khusrin.

He said that there are still many staff members who go for morning tea and shopping during working hours.

Mohammed Khusrin stressed that this will not only be carried out at the SUK Building, but the integrity unit will also be mobilised to all districts in the state.

“The move to curb this ‘snaking’ culture among public servants is not something to be messed with.

“The state government is serious in changing this unhealthy work culture in Selangor,” he said, taken from Sinar Harian.

He recently took part in a spot check at the Silver Jubilee Hall Cafe and small stalls at the SSAS Building last Friday to combat this culture from growing rampant.
