60 teams enliven MDKL sepak takraw championship

SHAH ALAM, 22 Apr: 60 teams participated in the MDKL Yang Dipertua Sepak Takraw Championship which offered cash prizes amounting to RM10,600.00.

The Yang Dipertua of the Kuala Langat District Council (MDKL), Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali, said that the championship was to produce talented young people in the sport to compete at the national level.

He hopes that joint cooperation between government and private agencies can be improved to ensure the quality of sepak takraw will be developed until the international level.

The championship was won by Sawadi ‘D’ and they took home RM2,000 together with medals.

Meanwhile for the under 19 closed category, PBT Zone 10 ‘A’ won the RM1,000 prize, together with a trophy.

The 40 years and above veteran category was won by Maybank ‘A’, taking home RM500.000 and a trophy.
