Sultan Sharafuddin declared that Farah Ann does not have to bother about narrow comments

SHAH ALAM, 26 June: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, declared that national gymnast, Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, does not have to care about the comments of those with narrow thinking, and instead continue to strive to be the best in the sport.

The decree was presented in a letter of appreciation from the Sultan to Farah, reported The Star.

“Criticising your clothes should be the last thing they think about when they give negative comments on social media.

“They need to celebrate your success for Malaysia and Singapore,” he said in the letter.

He said that Malaysia’s future lies in the young people like Farah and the people must support them (athletes) to excel rather than give negative comments.

“I am confident, it should take several years for hard work, dedication, determination and training to achieve what you have achieved,” he said.

Farah won her third gold medal in the national gymnastics squad for the floor routine at the SEA Games 2015 in Singapore and received criticism regarding her clothing in the sports.

The Sultan of Selangor also praised the gymnast for making a name for Malaysia and Selangor.

Farah was accompanied by her father Abdul Hadi Ahmad and received the letter of appreciation from a Selangor Palace Officer today.

In Farah’s reaction to The Star, she was touched by the letter she received.

“I want to express my thanks to the Sultan of Selangor for spending time to write to me,” she said.
