KUALA LUMPUR: A river in Kuala Selangor is suspected of being the location where the suspect threw the case evidence that is believed to be linked to the murder of the Deputy Public Prosecutor, Kevin Anthony Morais.
The Head of the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Division, Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad, said that an investigation team is looking into the river and search efforts will be assisted by the Malaysian Public Defense Department (JPAM).
“We are identifying if the area is where the case evidence was thrown into. The search for the case evidence will begin as soon as we identify the correct search area.
“The forensic team also inspected a cafe behind the back of the vehicle service centre in Jalan USJ 1, Subang Jaya, yesterday. Upon investigation, they seized some items there,” he said, taken from BH Online.
Newspapers previously reported that the suspect allegedly threw a blunt object used to kill Kevin and a mobile phone belonging to the victims into a river.
Zainuddin said that the police arrested two more suspects to help in the case investigation in this development.
Kevin, 55, was reportedly missing since September 4 before his body was found cemented in a drum that was thrown in a ditch near Jalan Subang 3, Taman Subang Mewah, USJ 1, Subang Jaya, on September 16.
