Najib should call an emergency Parliamentary session to clear his name

SHAH ALAM, 7 Sept: Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak, as the Prime Minister, should put forward a motion of no-confidence to clear his name and defend himself in the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion issue.

The Klang MP, Charles Santiago, said that he would personally act in this manner in Najib’s situation to defend the truth and also deny allegations thrown against him.

According to him, this matters because it involves the people’s and the world’s trust in the Malaysian government.

“The motion is important to maintain the integrity and explain to all the truth about the situation. I will defend myself in Parliament,” he told Selangor Kini.

Previously, various parties proposed that a vote of no-confidence and an emergency session should be held in Parliament to enable Najib to explain in detail the charges against him.

Furthermore, the Chairman of Transparency International, Jose Ugaz, in a statement said that Malaysia is facing a huge corruption crisis.

In related development, the Speaker of Parliament, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, stressed that no minister, including the Prime Minister, is allowed to reject any proposal before it is submitted.
