SHAH ALAM, 4 Sept: 26 teams from Selayang participated in the William Leong Cup Football Championship organised by the Batu Arang Youth Club at the Selayang Municipal Council field on August 31.
The Chairman, V Anmuniandy, said that the activity, which is being organised for the first time, aims to cultivate a healthy lifestyle among the people, especially the youth, with beneficial activities.
“We deem this first time organising as a success and hopefully it will be more received and receive sponsorship in the future.
“Thanks to the police for cooperation in maintaining security during the championship,” he told Selangor Kini.
The closing and prize presentation ceremony was done by the Selayang MP, William Leong, and was also attended by the Kuang constituency Coordinator, Salasiah Disa.
The event was held with a knockout concept and was won by Sejamas FC Selayang Jaya which managed to take home a cash prize of RM2,000, medals and a trophy.
Second place was won by Kuala Selangor BRP with a cash prize of RM1,500 and medals.
While the third place and fourth went to Kuala Selangor BRP A and Hulu Langat with them winning RM1,000 and RM500 respectively.
