SHAH ALAM, SEPT 18: Three food premises were ordered by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to close when found to be in unclean conditions for neglecting hygiene.
Corporate Communications Officer, Shahrin Ahmad, said the order was given when MBSA implemented Integrated Operations for Food Premises in the vicinity of Alam Avenue, Section 16, here recently.
“A total of 10 notices and five compounds were issued for premise hygiene offenses, absence of oil traps, and failure to provide evidence of TY2 vaccine and food handling certification.
“The notices were issued following the resistance of food handlers who neglect the importance of hygiene,” she said in a press statement.
Shahrin said that the notice and compounds are sent according the the MBSA Food Establishment By-laws 2007 and the MBSA Food Handling By-Laws 2007.
“The operation will be implemented from time to time to ensure food premises to comply with the Health Department.
“Premise owners are advised to keep their food preparation areas clean, provide the necessary food handling training and look after cleanliness levels,” he said.
