PEKAWANIS organised programme to enhance English skills

SEMENYIH, 17 Oct: The Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (PEKAWANIS) continues to help the target group through various programmes organised.

The President, Shamshida Taharin, said that she is thankful to the public for always supporting the programmes organised by PEKAWANIS all this while.

“We organise various programmes for women, including the most recent English guidance programme for the public which we are planning and is still being discussed.

“It can be carried out at community centres when the English teaching is in stages and according to age groups. It is open to children and adults,”s he told Selangor Kini.

She said that the programme is being planned because English is a skills requirement to build a career and to find jobs.

In addition, she said that PEKAWANIS also provides health programmes with its members and the paramedics by going to the houses of people, especially the elderly, and taking care of them.

“For women, we are working with other NGOs towards the success of programmes such as the Putri Arafiah Home to rehabilitate our teenagers, in addition to looking for other opportunities that can be offered for the good of the public,” she said.

She expressed happiness with the response received such as the Khatam Al-Quran programme that has seen participation grow each month.

“We want to strengthen fraternity and celebrate our similarities,” she said.
