BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD

BATU TIGA, SEP 12: Recalling her experience doing the ‘qurban’, Batu Tiga Assemblyman Rodziah Ismail shared a story which she considered most memorable to her.

Speaking to SelangorKini, she shared an experience of performing the ‘qurban’ together with the locals at one time.

“I still remember when I was invited for the religious ritual at that time, where what happened was most interesting and meaningful which I can still remember until now.

“There was a cow tied to a durian tree which had not borne fruit for a very long time.  However when the sacrifice was done at the tree, not long after, it started to bear fruit.

“Perhaps the greatness in that lies behind the sacrificial blood which flowed during that morning of Aidiladha,” she said.

Rodziah said that the event revealed the great significant behind the act of worship which is demanded in Islam.

“After what happened, I have always been invited by the locals to taste the durian fruit from that tree. What happened was most enlightening for me and the locals until now,” she said.

The sacrificial worship is performed by all Muslims to commemorate the sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim who was ordered to slaughter his son, Prophet Ismail.

Obeying the order, Prophet Ibrahim had tried to slaughter Prophet Ismail with a very sharp knife however the knife did not function as expected.

The occurrence was a miracle from Allah which affirmed that Ismail’s sacrifice was a test of his loyalty.

Prophet Ismail was replaced by a goat, an occurrence which ultimately became the beginning of the Aidiladha, a celebration by Muslims worldwide.
