SHAH ALAM, Jan 26: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will be able to defend their governance over Selangor based on the people’s support to the Coalition compared to Umno-BN in the 13th General Elections (GE-13) which will be held in the near future.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said current developments in the country show that the people are beginning to place their hopes on PR to continue governing Selangor and perhaps even taking over the country’s administration in Putrajaya.
He said some of the studies made have clearly outlined that the people are more supportive of PR than of Umno-BN.
“An impartial analysis made by a senior officer in Bank Islam stated that PR’s hopes of winning and governing Putrajaya are high.
“A study made by a group from the University of Malaya (UM) also stated that PR has a high chance. Studies made by the Special Branch, police, and the military showed that PR can win.
“The research found that the people agree for a change in governance,” he said in a speech celebrating the election machinery of Ijok and Bandar Tun Razak, here.
Abdul Khalid said PR has agreed with the people to create a new wave of governance in which the people choose their own government.
“This wave is significant in that it is the second wave since 2008; not only do we need to strengthen the government in Selangor, but also change the government in Putrajaya.
“The people have started to believe in us,” he said.
