KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Jan: Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM) presented a bouquet of flowers to the police as a symbol of peace in conjunction with the People’s Uprising Assembly 112 (HKR112) this Saturday.
The presentation of these flowers was done by Federal Territory SAMM Coordinator, Azmir Mustafa who was accompanied by the Selangor SAMM Coordinator, Azhar Achil and was received by the Dang Wangi District Police (IPD) Headquarters Deputy Chief, M Nazir.
The bouquet, with multi-coloured flowers, represents several other NGOs that will also be participating this Saturday.
Despite receiving threatening SMS’ from parties calling themselves Perkasa, Pekida, Pemuda Umno and 80 other NGOs.
SAMM reminded these parties to not execute any forms of provocation towards HKR112 this time.
Azmir, in a brief press conference, stated that it is wished that the HKR112 can be held peacefully without involving any violence or unwanted incidences as a mature form of the democratisation process.
“I wish to warn these parties to not, under any circumstances, plan to attack the groups of people who attend the HKR112.
“If you sell, we are ready to buy it. Federal Territory SAMM firmly tells these parties to not try to prevent the process of democracy and freedom of speech from continuing in this blessed land.
“This shows the real attitude of the obsolete Umno-BN regime that has never respected the Constitution and also the principles of the Rukun Negara (National Principles),” he said outside the Dang Wangi IPD.
Azmir added that the SMS were received around 4.00 to 6.00 in the morning since three days ago.
However, SAMM did not make any police report regarding the SMS, instead, they just want to focus on HKR112.
